Poem – Atop this pedestal

Atop this pedestal

You shine incredible

Radiating notes

Hitting the highest decibels

In my ears

As if on a loop

Marching through

My brain

Like the heaviest

Of armed troops

To grab my heart

Lying on the floor

You need not

Bend and scoop

As a wave of the hand

Whisks it up

To the heights

At which you stand

Completely by happens stance

To win my adoration

Was never planned

But yet I am conquered

Like a uninhabited undiscovered

Foreign land

Boats coming into the beach

Completely defenseless

  2. Love knows no bounds & you have shown us that with your words. The piece is very strong & full of emotion.
Very impressive! It is obvious that you understand what love is…

  3. Man your poetry truly sings, its flow and rhyme was really well down in this piece. As a caged little songbird this evening it was nice to perch here a read through a few times! ~ Rose

    • Thank you. Funny I am sitting here reading poetry and rocking out! I have a strong strong love for music. I guess it comes out that way a lot. Glad you liked it!

  4. Such a lovely rhythm and rhyme to this. I like the many images and phrases that capture how willingly one surrenders in love. And how open we are to offering our vulnerability. ‘completely defenseless’.

  5. Hows it going? I have checked your work a few times and as i only recently hit the web sphere i looked for who to follow and what they where up to to get their work out and you lept out as a great example of dedication and commitment so thanks bro.

This is a smart piece and unwinds smoothly with fine flow and grace

    Keep doing what your doing
