Words from your heart
Escape your lips
Hang momentarily in the air
Then are forced back by the headwind
Blown through your hair
A few appear to get caught
As they hold on for dear life
Eventually losing their grip
And bouncing quickly across the ground
As if chasing their friends
Never to be heard again
A short glance back
Apprehension sinks in
Will what has been lost
Haunt thee and prove
To be a valuable piece of the map
They could have lead you
Out of this dense forest of thorns
Now you stand here unaccompanied
And forlorn
Nice one sir!
Thank you and thanks for the continued support π

great write and as long as you get up the hunt and fight you can never lose what’s inside you.
Lovely words brother, connected so perfectly in depth and emotion. Always good to see your words ~ Rose
Thanks I have been saving a few favs. Stay tuned. Lol
I like the page and the write. I wish there times I could actually reel back a few words I have spoken, s maybe it evens out in the end. Some words never reach their mark and some do that we wish we hadn’t said.
Very true. Thanks for reading.
rather sad there in the end…do love the imagery of the words blown back through the hair…and trying to cling…in the briars alone sounds like a lonely place though…
Thank you Brian
Wonderful piece π Holds impact and depth…so much suspended here and conviction π Poppy
Thank you so much Poppy. Drop by anytime.
I think so many words are lost like this. Thrown to the wind, when they could mean so much in how things turn out in our life. You have caught one of those moments as a reminder to remain aware of what might stray too far and become a mishap in our lives or the lives of others.
Thank you. You have captured it. Thanks for reading
*sigh* This stirs up quite a few feelings; you put it into words much better than I could. Wonderful!

Very imaginative with not going overboard with unneeded detail. You give us enough so we can draw our own pictures and that draws us in more.
Thank you sir. I appreciate it.
That’s a visual treat of the written word.
Thanks Shail
i always think it’s sad when the words have already made it from heart to lips….(which can be a long way….) and then get blown aways by the wind of circumstances or discouragement or whatever it is…and they are never to be heard…nicely penned…
I am glad you liked it Claudia.
Ah, just to think of the possibilities and all the saved souls thanks to words. Of course, there are many damned owing to those same magic words. A beautiful poem.
That is also true. Thanks Mariya
Last stanza did a wonderful job of bringing through the sentiment of the poem. Very good!
Thank you PR.
This reminds me of the secne from Snow White where it was all thorns and dark.
