Poem – Anger

Rising off the backs

Of moments passed

Inflating the present

Beyond its own capabilities

Blinded to that fact

It zero’s in on its fresh target

With unbridled determination

Overstating the importance and value

Of the pedestal it has chosen

To perch itself upon

Long after this battle is done

And it has stepped down

To hide its face

Amongst the shadows of dormant emotions

It sits drenched in the fuels

Created throughout life

Waiting to combust

With any contact with

A new and seemingly insidious spark

  1. Anger does seem to simmer down deep but in a convenient spot for rising in the throat like indigestion, just from the mere thinking of anger incidents from the past…
